DRIVING LESSONS

For your first lesson, you are required to present a valid provisional licence. You must always be in a suitable condition to drive and must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If I have reason to believe you are unfit to drive, the lesson will be stopped, and you will be charged. Additionally, please inform me of any other factors that could impact your ability to drive.

PAYMENT OF DRIVING LESSONS

Payments for lessons must be made at least 48 hours in advance, preferably via bank transfer (bank details will be provided before the first lesson). Alternatively, cash payments can be made at the start of the lesson. If payment is not made at the start of the lesson a penalty can be charged by the Instructor of £20 + £2 for each day over. For block bookings, full payment is required before the first lesson of the block. Refunds are only granted under exceptional circumstances. Block bookings must be used within 6 months.
Prices may change at any time, but you will be given reasonable notice. The cost of prepaid blocks is based on the rates at the time of booking and will be honored for 6 months, regardless of any price increases during that period. If any lessons remain unused after 6 months, they will be subject to any new price adjustments, which will be payable by you.
Purchased lessons are non-transferable and cannot be sold or given to anyone else

GIFT VOUCHERS
Gift vouchers can be made available, please contact me directly via the Contact me page

CANCELLATION OF LESSONS

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice must be provided if you wish to cancel a lesson. If you cancel a lesson without providing at least 48 hours’ notice, the full lesson fee will be charged. Should I need to cancel a lesson, I will notify you as soon as possible and reschedule the lesson.
If you’ve booked your driving test, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) requires three clear working days’ notice to cancel the test. Failure to do so could result in the loss of your DVSA test fee if your instructor deems you unprepared within that notice period.
If you do not attend a lesson without prior notice, I will wait up to 10 minutes while attempting to contact you by phone. If you fail to attend, the full lesson fee will be charged before scheduling your next lesson.
In cases of severe weather, lessons can be rescheduled. The decision will be based on your driving ability and guidance from motoring organisation. However, if you cancel at short notice due to weather and conditions are deemed safe for driving, the lesson fee will still apply.

PENALTIES
When driving the school vehicle, you will be closely supervised. However, I am not responsible for any legal violations, and any fines incurred are the driver’s responsibility. I will, of course, make every effort to prevent such issues.
If you use my vehicle for the practical driving test, the examiner will closely monitor your driving and will intervene to avoid any potential accidents. However, any damage to the vehicle caused by driver negligence, along with the repair costs, will be your responsibility.

PRACTICAL DRIVING TESTS
I will do my best to help you achieve a level of driving proficiency that will allow you to pass your driving test. However, it’s important that you attend regular lessons, as your test date may need to be postponed if additional preparation is required. The key to passing the driving test is thorough preparation. For  road safety, I reserve the right to withdraw the use of my car for tests booked without prior notice if I believe you are not ready or pose a safety risk.

PUNCTUALITY
I will inform you if I expect to be late for our driving lesson. Any lost time will be made up at the end of the session if possible or added to a future lesson. However, if you are late, that time may not be recoverable.

HOLIDAYS AND AVAILABILITY

I will inform you in advance of my holidays and any days I am unavailable. Please remember to schedule your first lesson after your holiday or break to secure your spot in the diary and maintain progress. If I don’t hear from you within three weeks of your last lesson, your space will no longer be reserved, and you will be placed on the next available spot on the waiting list.

COMPLAINTS
Complaints must be made within 24 hours of the issue(s) arising and your complaint will be acknowledged within 2 working days, and following investigation, a satisfactory outcome or decision on how to resolve the dispute reached, normally within 14 working days
